During a HydraFacial session, you can expect a relaxing, non-invasive treatment that typically lasts around 30 to 60 minutes. The treatment involves four key steps:

Cleansing and Exfoliation – The skin is gently cleansed, and dead cells are removed.

Acid Peel – A mild glycolic or salicylic acid peel is applied to loosen debris in pores.

Extraction – A painless suction extracts impurities and clears pores.

Is the HydraFacial treatment painful? What kind of sensations or discomfort should be expected during the procedure?

No, the HydraFacial treatment is not typically painful. Most people describe it as a relaxing experience. You might feel a gentle suction and cool, refreshing sensations as the device moves across your skin. Some mild tingling may occur during the acid peel step, but it is generally comfortable, with no significant discomfort or irritation. The process is designed to be gentle, even for sensitive skin types.

How many sessions are typically needed for optimal results? How often should treatments be scheduled?

For optimal results, many people see noticeable improvements after just one HydraFacial session. However, for long-lasting benefits, a series of 4 to 6 sessions spaced about 3 to 4 weeks apart is often recommended. After that, maintenance treatments every 4 to 6 weeks can help sustain results, depending on individual skin concerns and goals.

Is there any downtime after a HydraFacial? Can normal activities, including makeup application, be resumed immediately?

There is no downtime after a HydraFacial, and you can resume normal activities immediately. Most people experience refreshed, glowing skin right away and can apply makeup the same day, although it's often recommended to wait a few hours to allow the serums to fully absorb. Since the treatment is gentle, you can continue with your regular routine, including work or social events, without concerns.

Yes, there are some contraindications for HydraFacial. People with active rashes, sunburns, open wounds, or severe acne outbreaks should avoid the treatment until these conditions are resolved. Avoid Exfoliation – Refrain from using any harsh exfoliants or scrubs, including retinoids, glycolic acids, or peels, for about 48 hours prior to your treatment.

Limit Sun Exposure – Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for at least 48 hours before the procedure to prevent skin irritation.

No Waxing or Laser Treatments – Avoid waxing or laser hair removal on the face for about a week beforehand.

Skip Makeup – If possible, arrive with a clean face free of makeup to allow the treatment to begin immediately.
